I really liked this insulated travel cup – particularly the colour of it and how nice it looked and the corrugated grip in the middle – it looks really good. However only three hours after making a hot drink, I was shocked when I took my first swig and it was only warm, not hot, so it had cooled down a lot. I probably therefore wouldn’t trust the mug to keep a drink hot for me for several hours but it’s perfect for taking on the commute to work or wherever and I will continue to use this as it still does a better job at keeping coffee hot than an open normal cup does.

This travel cup is a lovely shade of red, although in the photos on the product page it looks a bit more of a metallic, shimmering red than it is in real life. It keeps the drink hot for a decent amount of time, but it's certainly not an all-day cup - I would think you'd want to start drinking your drink within an hour or so of making it at least. The cup is nice to hold, and I haven't had any trouble with it leaking, although mostly I am just carrying the cup to the car and putting it in the cup holder, so it's not like it's going in a backpack! Good value at the current price of £7.49.

This mug is 15cm tall (to the highest point of the clip that opens it) and has a 8.5cm diameter at the widest point at the top and just under 7cm at the bottom. It weighs 600g when full but doesn't take the 380ml capacity mentioned in the description. Even 360ml is too much and the drink spills when you put the lid on. The mug is made of stainless steel and is stamped with a SUS 304 mark in the bottom inside to confirm. The only section that is sainless steel colour is the rim of the lid. Everything else is in the colour you've chosen, with all the elements matching perfectly despite being in different plastic materials. The middle section is slightly indented so that the 7cm plastic ring can slot in it; the latter has got a ribbed finish to offer even more grip. The screw-on lid has a clip to open a section to sip your drink out of. It seems to be spill proof from the shaking I did. The mug has a soft plastic base which gives it stability and also dampens the sound when placing it on any surface. It says that it's for hand wash only and not microwavable. I tested whether the drink could keep warm for up to 6 hours. I preheated the mug by filling it with hot water first and then replacing it with water that had just boiled. It instantly lost 10degreeC and after 6 hours the temperature had dropped to 39degreeC which isn't warm enough. That said you may not need your drink to stay warm for that long. The mug is unbranded and was bagged and then placed in a cardboard box with colour illustrations of the product and key product features (incl BPA free). There's a sticker giving manufacturer/Importer contact details and their UK representatives'. Made in China.
