This bamboo / silicone cup came packaged in a plastic bag and presented in branded cardboard packaging – it would definitely be suitable for gifting if taken out of the plastic bag. This is a great sustainable option for the planet so it would have been nice to see this reflected more in the packaging too. This cup is suitable for babies from 6 months of age and in fact the NHS suggest that your baby’s first cup (as progression on from the bottle) is either an open cup or a free-flowing cup (without a valve) to help your baby learn to sip without the need to a straw, teat or spout which could affect development of their teeth. The bamboo cup comes with a removable silicone insert and holds approximately 150ml of liquid (or 5fl oz). The cup measures 7.7cm in diameter and 7.8cm in height and is perfect for encouraging your baby to sip water from a cup with their meals instead of a bottle. The outer of the cup is made from bamboo which is a strong, renewable material so a great eco-friendly option but it is still smooth without any rough edges and the silicone insert is made with 100% food grade silicone which is BPA free. The silicone rim edging means that it is gentle against your baby’s gums (particularly whilst they are teething) whilst the bamboo provides some grip and is the perfect size for little hands. The cup also has a weighted bottom which helps prevent the cup from tipping over. The silicone component of the cup is dishwasher safe which is ideal for the lining insert to keep it fresh, but as long exposure to hot water can negatively affect wood, the bamboo component is not dishwasher safe. It is best to handwash the bamboo component in warm soapy, rinse and then dry with a clean cloth to maintain the wood. To further extend the lifespan you can apply oils such as coconut, almond or walnut oil with a paper towel to preserve the wood for longer. The bamboo is also not microwave safe. I’m not sure if this design is only available in the light turquoise colourway but it is a good option for gender neutrality and if you are buying this as a gift for a parent it is a fairly safe colour. My photographs do show the silicone as much bluer than it actually is – I think the product images are much closer to the real colour. Currently priced at £11.54 at the time of reviewing I think that this is a lovely quality cup which encourages independence and is made of high-quality materials with a very good finish – I would definitely recommend it.

Bought for baby-led weaning. Worked really well and baby loved it, but the bamboo base cracked in less than a month of use. The instructions say not to use the silicone insert without the base so the whole cup is now useless.

Munchkin are such a good brand for children’s products and this is no exception. I seem to be building up quite a collection of bamboo products. I love the feel and look of bamboo and this cup is made from renewable bamboo that can grow a meter in a day - impressive !!! I just couldn’t resist ordering this for my granddaughter. The cup is perfect size for little hands and is easy to grasp and hold. The base is flat and doesn’t topple over. Lid is actually a removable insert that covers the completely covers the inside of the cup. It’s made from non toxic food grade silicone and dishwasher safe. My toddler has only ever had an “open cup” and loved the bamboo design. The only issue we have found is the cup is very small and requires re-filling after every time our son drinks from it.

This Munchkin bamboo open drinking cup is soo cute and elegant. Perfect as baby’s first drinking cup. The cute sippy cup comes in a cute packaging. The bamboo cup is made from very good quality wood and looks way more expensive than it is. The inside is made from silicon and has a soft silicone tip for a smooth drinking without hurting teeth or mouth. The best thing is that the silicone part is removable for when they get older. Eating and drinking in bamboo bowls and plates and cups is much healthier than in plastic ones. The size of the bamboo drinking cup is also very good, not too small or too big but perfect portion for a baby or toddler 5oz and fits perfectly in those tiny hands. This makes a very good gift for christmas, birthday, etc. Highly recommend it.

If you are just starting your toddler was drinking and want something that looks quite nice, and there’s also a bit more friendly than preformed plastic, then this is a really well made and high-quality solution. The only thing I would say is that I don’t really like putting it in the dishwasher because I don’t think it will be good for the bamboo over time with the wetness followed by the drying pattern so I wash this by hand. The silicon tap is easy to rinse clean and is really soft, so if your baby does chew on it, it won’t cause any problems.

Petite tasse en bambou avec une cup en silicone à glisser à l’intérieur. Pour l’entretien 5 min dans de l’eau bouillante avant sa première utilisation, ensuite de l’eau savonneuse suffira. Prévoir un petit entretien mensuel avec de l’huile d’olive ou neutre pour le bois, car oui même coupé le bois reste vivant, il faut continuer à le nourrir. Je l’ai prise pour ma poupette de 18 mois qui commence à vouloir faire la grande et veut elle aussi son verre perso à table. Je trouve que le bambou est une matière très douce et écologique car c’est un bois durable qui pousse extrêmement vite et surtout très robuste. En plus la petite gravure cœur est trop mignonne. La cup en silicone est vraiment pratique, on peut l’enlever pour la nettoyer individuellement, elle est très douce pour bébé et son bord incurvé permet d’aider bébé dans ce nouvel apprentissage. Sa taille est parfaitement adaptée aux petites mains de bébé qui va pouvoir la manipuler facilement. Très bonne idée de cadeau pour votre bambin ou un enfant de votre entourage. Produit d’excellente qualité et durable, je vous la recommande.

Ce gobelet aurait pu être un ustensile de plus pour bébé mais Munchkin a eu la bonne idée de le parfaire et de l'embellir. Ainsi, ce gobelet est ouvert et est fait de 2 matières : à la fois du silicone de qualité 100% alimentaire et du bambou renouvelable non toxique, pour un résultat naturel et dans l'air du temps. Il est d'une contenance de 150ml. Le silicone en question est tout doux pour les gencives et les dents de bébé. La prise en main du gobelet est facile, parfaite pour les petites mains de bébé. Et celui-ci va permettre à bébé de passer du biberon au verre à boire, sans danger, en toute tranquillité. Cerise sur le gâteau : La partie en silicone qui tapisse l'intérieur du gobelet peut être enlevée car elle est totalement amovible. On se retrouve alors avec une beau gobelet en bambou qui grandit avec bébé. A noter que cette partie en silicone (uniquement) passe au lave-vaisselle pour plus de facilité d'entretien. Petit impératif : Nourrir la partie en bambou de temps en temps (avec de l'huile par ex) afin de conserver toutes ses qualités.
